Ever since a low point in the mid-1990s when the abundance of yearling and older brown trout in the Battenkill experienced a 70 percent decline, the river has come back strong, thanks to interdisciplinary studies and cooperative restoration efforts.
Christian Dickinson, of Pownal, has been hired 20 hours per week at $40 per hour, including benefits such as vacation and sick time. She will start on May 6.
