The couple said they had the Grubhub driver bring the food up to their unit, but after Kim Block turned to put the food down, the dog was gone.
“It was surreal, Kim told First Coast News when the dog was still missing. I was walking through the house calling her, Lexi, Lexi, here Lexi, and she was just nowhere. She s always right by my side. She always wants to be right next to me. She doesn t even weigh four pounds. She weighs 3.7 pounds. She s very tiny, and she always wants to be next to me. She s my little baby. And I just can t believe that she s gone.
A delivery driver was arrested after he stole a customer’s Teacup Poodle, Jacksonville Beach police say.
Arlinson Chilito was making a Grubhub delivery Saturday evening when the tiny puppy ran out of the customer’s condo. Police say Chilito grabbed the puppy and hid her in his delivery bag, then left the building, bypassing the lobby staff.
Officers and detectives say video surveillance from the condominium captured the theft on video. Hours later, Chilito was located at his residence in Jacksonville with the puppy.
Chilito, 22, was arrested and charged with grand theft. He is currently in the Duval County Jail on $92,512 bond. Jail records show he also faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and possession of marijuana.
