Gov. Kay Ivey has ordered flags at half-staff in honor of Army Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins of Opelika, a Congressional Medal of Honor winner who died of COVID-19 in April.
Adkins, who was 86, will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday. His funeral was delayed because of the pandemic.
