The statement reads, “The Army Headquarters has noted yet another ill-conceived report on a sub-judice and ongoing Court Martial process of Major General UM Mohammed, the erstwhile Group Managing Director (GMD) Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL), who was indicted by a military police investigation and recommended for trial."

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, made this known in a statement on Sunday.

He said the holding facility where he was being detained was serviced by the Army Command and NAOWA Hospital, adding that the medical facilities were open to the accused officer whenever required.

  The Nigerian Army Headquarters on Sunday admitted to detaining the former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL), Maj.-Gen. U. M. Mohammed over allegations bordering on fraud and stealing.   Mohammed is a former ally of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.).   On Friday, SaharaReporters reported that the Nigerian Army was secretly detaining Mohammed after exposing how he laundered funds for Buratai.
