still don t have power. another major obstacle is on sanibel island where hurricane ian wiped out the road connecting sanibel island to mainland florida. joining me now is the maybe holly smith. than thank you so much for taking time. the sanib ll causeway is a image of the disaster, just crumbled and broken and cut off. do you know yet what the plan is and what the expectation is to getting it connected and passable again? yeah, as we know, that causeway is going to be a long-term recovery and there are plans in motion right now. army corp of engineers, lee county, they own the bridge. so i was over in the emergency operations center this morning just talking about those next steps and since there is going to be more information coming out on that today. that is going to be a long-term process for us. but what we have to look at is our community is shut oust off from the rest of the world.
