The Program Executive Office for Aviation, working with Army Contracting Command, has awarded the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft Competitive Demonstration and Risk Reduction Phase II project agreements under the Aviation and Missile Technology Consortium Other Transaction Authority to Bell Textron Inc. and the Sikorsky-Boeing Team.
These agreements will require the project agreement holders to complete an initial preliminary design for major subsystems and the conceptual weapons system. The Army awarded Bell $195 million and Sikorsky-Boeing $189 million.
The FLRAA Project Office will conduct the CD&RR Phase II simultaneously with the source selection activities including preliminary analysis of requirements for Special Operations Command, Medevac and defense exportability features in the FLRAA aircraft.
