How cold and when we can expect a warmup. Lets start with how cold it is outside right now. Were at 12 degrees in allentown. 15 in philadelphia. 14 in wilmington. The winds from the north and northwest just continue to pool in that cold arctic air. Our temperatures will stay down low today. You can see hour neighborhood sevenday forecast. This was taken from the helmet camera of a firefighter interlock. Crews arrived overnight and found a major leak in the stairwell. They had to shut off several valves to stop the flow. No one was hurt but residents on the ground floor had to be evacuated. 20 people are confirmed dead in the mudslides. Crews still expect to find more victims as they continue to sift through mud and debris. They are using backhoes, jackhammers and chainsaws. Tuesdays slide destroyed at least 65 homes in montecito. Normal activity has ground to a halt. My mom was telling me the stories. Think about this, its now not functional. So the longer the recovery takes, the harder its going to be for them to bounce back. The hillside gave way as rains sent floodwaters down slopes.
