New this morning, Iowa City Police shot someone near the ped mall, overnight. It happened around 2 00. Police saw people running away from what looked to be a fight at the intersection of burlington and clinton streets. There, officers say they found 19yearold Demontrae Poole with a handgun. Police chased him through the crowded ped mall and later arrested him. Police say poole may have ditched the gun before being captured. Officers cleared the ped mall to look for the weapon, but couldnt find it. Poole faces several weapons and drug related charges. Showed up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Hes currently being treated for nonlife threatening injuries. Dub
