Capper Building to be uncapped for Fair The Capper Building will go caplessĀ for the 2021 Kansas State Fair. The Kansas State Fair Board agreed on Tuesday to pay up to $25,000 to have the roof on the 108-year-old building torn off but to leave the rest of the aging open-air structure in place for the upcoming fair. The Kansas State Fair Board agreed Tuesday to take bids on some construction and building upgrade projects on the fairgrounds, including a long-delayed estimated $2.37 million project at the Expo I horse exhibition center.
