The Supreme Court on Friday allowed physically challenged candidates who have cleared the civil service exam to provisionally opt for the Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Railway Protection Force (IRPF), and the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS).

The interim order was passed on a petition against a notification that excludes people with physical disabilities from certain branches of the civil services.
