Farmers ‘Delhi Chalo’ March Protest 2024: Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday questioned the Haryana Government for blocking the roads ahead of the farmers' protest. Two pleas were filed in the High Court. The first plea challenged the internet suspension and border sealing in Haryana while the second plea challenged road blockades by protestors.

A bench comprising acting chief justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and justice Lapita Banerji asked the Union and state governments to file status reports on the farmers’ agitation by Thursday. The high court also asked the petitioners to implead the Delhi government as a party to the lawsuits.

The Punjab and Haryana high court Tuesday issued notices to the Centre, and the states of Haryana and Punjab, on two separate petitions filed pertaining to the farmers Delhi Chalo march.

The petitioner requested to lift restrictions under section 144 and suspend mobile internet and bulk SMS in seven Haryana districts. | Latest News India
