TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Members of the Florida State swimming and diving teams will be competing at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials starting on Friday. The 2021 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials – Wave I will run from June 4-7 in Omaha, Nebraska at the CHI Health Center, while the U.S. Diving Trials will be held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana from June 6-13. “We’re so excited for our Noles to compete at US Olympic Trials,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “It is one of the toughest competitions in the world. This is an amazing achievement and experience for them.” Prelims each day will start at 10 a.m. (CT) The top 16 in each event will advance to finals. April 26, 2021 McCusker Wins 100 free Irish National Title
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State junior Max McCusker took home the gold medal in the 100m free at the Irish National Championships at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre in Dublin on Saturday.
McCusker went into the meet seeded eighth at 51.17. In prelims on April 23, he improved his best time to 50.10 before breaking the 50-second barrier in semifinals, touching at 49.78 for third place.
In finals on April 24, McCusker went for the lead and turned second at the 50m mark. Down the stretch, the field tightened, but McCusker pulled out the victory in the final five meters, touching at 49.51.
