The first Asda Express convenience store has opened today, as the company launches a new convenience range in a bid to become the UKs second largest supermarket.

The grocer, the third biggest in the UK behind Tesco and Sainsburys, will open two stores under the Asda Express name before Christmas.

There are 30 more stores planned for 2023 which are expected to create 500 new jobs.
