The Calgary Police Service now says that three people attacked downtown on Dec. 21 were targeted because they were experiencing homelessness and other vulnerabilities.

Police say a series of random stabbings in the downtown core last month have been determined to be hate-motivated and targeted vulnerable Calgarians.

The two men were arrested Dec. 23, two days after three males were stabbed in separate attacks in the early morning hours of Dec. 21.
