The group, “In This Together Cambria” hosted an event of remembrance in unity with others. The Stone Bridge in Johnstown was illuminated with candles to represent each life lost to COVID-19 in Cambria County. As of Tuesday, the Department of Health has reported 340 deaths in the county. Organizer, Ashlee Kiel says this is a chance for the community to mourn, safely. “One of the hardest part of this time, which makes it a little bit different than other parts of history, is that we have not had an opportunity to grieve in the way we normally do. Big funerals have been out,” said Kiel. “We haven’t been able to be with our loved ones in the hospital. There has just been so much loss on top of the death that has occurred. COVID-19 Remembrance

COVID-19 Remembrance 11:01 pm As of Sunday at noon, 331 people in Cambria County have died from COVID-19, according to the PA Department of Health’s dashboard. This week, one local organization will be honoring those 331 people who have died. “In This Together Cambria,” an online group created last year to encourage residents to do their part in ending the pandemic, will host a virtual memorial. The group will present “Lights of Remembrance, A Memorial for Cambria County COVID Victims” on Tuesday, January 19th from 5:30-8:30pm. One candle luminary will be lit to represent each person lost in Cambria County to COVID-19 near the Stone Bridge in Johnstown.

In This Together Cambria 1:53 am A group of Local Activists are using Social Media to share stories of Cambria County Residents with COVID-19. They’re hoping to encourage Local Leaders to do more to stop the spread in our Communities. You may have seen a new group on Facebook circling around called “In This Together Cambria” which tries to influence people to do their part in bringing this Pandemic to an end. This month, as Cambria County resident Ashlee Kiel scrolls through her Facebook, she’s been noticing a common trend. She says posts of big Thanksgiving Dinners were right next to posts of people sharing their stories about suffering from COVID-19. So, Ashlee reached out to other local Activists online and decided to take action.
