The National Emblem atop the central foyer of the new Parliament building has garnered much attention. The Ashok Stambh, a replica of the original, much larger in scale, is made of bronze and is 6.5metres tall and weighs 9,500 kg.
The family members of Dinanath Bhargava, a co-artist in the team that had designed the original national emblem of India, said that in order to accomplish the task, he kept visiting a zoo in Kolkata for three months to closely observe lions.
