Illinois lawmakers seek to make the State Capitol more accessible
SPRINGFIELD (WREX)-Advocates of people with disabilities look to help make proceedings at the Sate Capitol more accessible.
The Illinois Network of Centers of Independent Living are working with lawmakers on a proposed Bill that aims to improve accessibility.
The Bill would require an accessibility coordinator to be appointed to help people with disabilities.
The Illinois General Assembly website would also have to include resources, like an email address to request accommodations to meet the accessibility needs of people.
Last, the Illinois General Assembly Accessibility Task Force would be created.
