Governor Hochul announced that the Village of Lancaster and the Village of Wellsville will each receive $4.5 million in funding as the Western New York region winners of the first round of NY Forward.
Two more local lawmakers have announced they tested positive for the coronavirus.
State Assemblymember Joseph Giglio, who represents all of Cattaraugus and Allegany counties and part of Steuben County in the Southern Tier's 148th district, has announced that he and his wife Ann have both tested positive for COVID-19.
Giglio took a test after experiencing mild flu-like symptoms. He said in a release that the couple is self-isolating at home and noted that he has been working remotely for several weeks, carrying out his legislative duties via Zoom and conference calls.
Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist also announced he tested positive for the virus.
