Hate crime numbers are increasing nationwide, according to new numbers from the U.S. Department of Justice obtained this week by KCRA 3. Hate crimes . have always been a topic of concern, said FBI Sacramento Special Agent Sean Reagan. The trends have shown an increase over the last five years. Between 2015 and 2019, reported hate crimes increased 25%, and 60% of those were racially motivated, according to FBI reports.
