About 37 percent of Indiana County’s voters turned in a ballot either by mail or at the polls on Tuesday for the 2021 primary election.
One of the hotly contested local races was the race for the County Court of Common Pleas vacancy. Assistant District Attorney Gina Force won the Republican nomination with 6,396 votes cast in the election, which is roughly 57.26 percent of the Republican votes. Force was grateful for the support.
Former District Attorney Patrick Dougherty won the Democrat party’s nomination , with 3,203 votes, roughly 51 percent of all Democrat votes cast. Dougherty said that while he appreciated the nomination by the Democrat party, he knows he has a lot of work ahead of him.
