Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Saturday said he hoped the European Council would make “a truly European”, merit-based decision on granting Georgia the European Union membership candidate status.
The Georgian foreign office on Saturday said the leaders of the member states of the European Union adopted a document reaffirming their support to Georgia on its European path in the European Council meeting on October 26-27.
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Tuesday said the country had received “full support” from Romania for receiving the European Union membership candidate status following his meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
