Mystery flying objects, UFOs or "UAPs," probably aren't aliens. But if extraterrestrial life is real, NASA could discover evidence in your lifetime.

A few days ago, I was working at home when the phone rang. I answered, and was surprised to hear a soft, accented voice asking for me. It was Lada Tsokolova, calling from Germany, with the sad news that her husband Sergey had just died of cancer.  I was stunned. Sergey was young!

The Icefin team’s observations revealed more than a century of geological processes beneath the Ross Ice Shelf near where it meets Kamb Ice Stream, and will inform models of sea-level rise.

An abrupt change in scenery was relayed by a high in a narrow, seawater-filled crevasse at the base of Antarctica’s biggest ice shelf, and cameras on the remotely operated Icefin underwater vehicle.
