Asus introduced the Zenfone 8 series including the Asus Zenfone 8, and Zenfone 8 Flip globally last week. Now the company is likely to launch Asus Zenfone 8 as Asus 8Z in India.
The series was to be launched in India on May 13, but Asus postponed the launch due to the second wave of Covid 19 in India.
ZenFone 8 Indian variant with the model numbers ASUS I006D and ZS590KS also appeared in the list of Google Play supported devices as the Asus 8Z. This was first reported by Sudhanshu Ambhore on Twitter.

Asus Zenfone 8 to ditch motorised flip camera from Zenfone 7, to come with punch hole display
Asus Zenfone 8 series is slated to launch on May 12. The company has been teasing the Zenfone 8 for some time now, and the latest tweet hints that the upcoming smartphone may not feature a motorised camera that was seen on Zenfone 7.

The Zenfone 8 launch is slated to take place on May 12, just a couple of weeks away. Asus has already started teasing its upcoming flagship smartphone. We know that the Zenfone 8 lineup will bring a compact flagship smartphone through previous leaks and rumours. This device is expected to ship with a 5.9-inch 120Hz OLED panel and Qualcomm s Snapdragon 888 SoC.

The Asus ZenFone 8 series has long been in the rumour belt and so far, there have been speculations of the Snapdragon 888 chip running the show. However, a recent leak now reveals some specifications of both the expected models for this year’s lineup. Expected to be called the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Pro, these will be relying on the Snapdragon 888 chipset and stick to a high refresh rate display. The ZS590KS, most likely to be called the ZenFone 8, is expected to get the Snapdragon 888 chipset and 120Hz high refresh rate display. The display is said to stick to 1080 resolution and there’s no mention of the panel technology. The main rear camera is expected to use either the Sony IMX686 or IMX683 sensor.
