Nairobi Water Cuts Off Water Supply in 12 Estates

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) on Wednesday, December 16, announced a two-day water outage in several estates across the capital.
NCWSC announced the water interruption will commence on Thursday, December 17 with the resumption of services expected on Friday, December 18.
Most of the estates affected are along Mombasa road and Lang ata road.
In a public notice, NCWSC Managing Director Nahason Muguna revealed that new and old pipes connections will be replaced. This will facilitate interconnection of the new and old water pipelines at Lang ata road and Mombasa road junction to enable the release of the road median to the Expressway road contractor from Nyayo Stadium to Isuzu East Africa, read the notice in part.
A number of estates and key installations in Nairobi are set to go without water for two days with Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company set to shut down the water supply pipeline along Mombasa road.
The shutdown, which will be between Thursday and Friday, is a result of the ongoing construction of the multi-billion Nairobi Expressway.
Nairobi Water Managing Director Engineer Nahashon Muguna said the closing down of the water pipeline will facilitate interconnection of the new and old water pipelines at Lang’ata Road and Mombasa Road junction to enable release the road median to the Expressway road constructor from Nyayo Stadium to Isuzu East Africa.

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd (NCWSC) will shut down a water supply pipeline along Mombasa Road from Thursday, December 17 at 6am to Friday, December 18 at 6am.
According to a notice to the public, this will be done to facilitate interconnection of the new and old water pipelines at Langata Road and Mombasa Road junction so that the road median to the Expressway can be released to the contractor.
As a result, the following estates will experience interrupted water supply:
Nairobi West, South B and South C (including Mater Hospital)
Estates along Jogoo Road including Buruburu, Makadara, Hamza and Industrial Area
