Nurses in Shelby are celebrating Nurses Month

As the country turns the corner from the coronavirus, nurses are still recovering from what has been a long season of laboring. Veronica Poole-Adams, facility executive and chief nurse executive at Atrium Health Cleveland is reminding everyone what nurses have gone through and how dedicated her staff has been. “Nurses are amazing people,” said Poole-Adams. “I feel they are the glue of healthcare. I am honored to be part of such a wonderful nursing team.” What started out as Nurses Week has turned into a month-long celebration, according to the American Nurses Association. Poole-Adams, who has given 39 years of service, said nurses are the glue to healthcare and pointed to the relentless care and treatment given through the pandemic.

Search warrants give more info in Cherryville toddler s death Search warrants completed by Cherryville Police officers since the tragic death of a 3-year-old girl in January provide more details of the moments she became unresponsive.   Anna Lee Tadych, who lived at 5307 Dellinger Circle in Cherryville with her 26-year-old mother, Jenna Michelle Melton, died on Jan. 5. Police, who have suspected the mother of causing her daughter’s death, arrested and charged the toddler’s mom with involuntary manslaughter on Tuesday, April 27.  Officers, who were initially called to Tadych and Melton’s home, arrived to Dellinger Circle on Jan. 5 to find the child lying on the floor at a neighboring home, where Tadych’s father, Randall Tadych, lived at the time, according to a search warrant issued on Jan. 12.

Falls, 13, was reported missing early Wednesday morning, sparking a day-long search to find her. She was eventually found unconscious in a wooded area near her home shortly after 6 p.m. It is not known how the teenager, who is non-verbal, got out of her home and ended up in the woods. She s roughed up, scratched up from her arms and legs, but the good thing is that she is fine, said Wesley Lamire, Taylor s mother.

(WBTV) - An 8-month-old girl was shot Tuesday when a bullet reportedly shot outside went into a home in Shelby. The shooting happened around 10:19 p.m. at a home on Putnam Street near the intersection with Silver Street. When officers got to the scene they found the 8-month-old who they say had an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators say they believe an altercation occurred outside the home and shots were fired. The baby, they say, was struck by a bullet that traveled through an outside wall and into the home.
