AKRON, Ohio – In a move attributed to the coronavirus pandemic, Akron-based Smithers has canceled its plan for new downtown headquarters which the city and Summit County were helping fund.
The company, which provides science, technology and business testing and consulting services, had planned to build a $16.9 million headquarters and research development facility in part of 47 North Main Street near Ohio 59.
