Parents are urging the government to intervene in the school bus strike that has left some 15,000 Montreal students without transportation for the past four months.
The school bus drivers union is still refusing to resort to arbitration to settle its dispute with Autobus Transco, despite a request from Quebec Labour Minister Jean Boulet, and the employer.
Since the fall, bus drivers have been on strike, leaving some 15,000 students without a ride to and from school. Frustration is growing among parents over the lack of action.
Quebec Labour Minister Jean Boulet met Autobus Transco management and union representatives on Friday in hopes that the labour dispute gets settled soon, as 15,000 children haven t had school transport since the fall.
