 - May 6, 2021, 11:20 AM Dassault has formally launched the Falcon 10X, a 7,500-nm competitor to the Bombardier Global 7500 and Gulfstream G700, adding the French manufacturer to the ranks of ultra-long-range business jet manufacturers. The 10X is expected to be certified and enter service in 2025. “Today we are introducing a new benchmark in business aviation,” said Dassault chairman and CEO Eric Trappier. “The 10X will offer an unrivaled passenger experience over both short- and long-duration flights, along with breakthrough safety features derived from frontline fighter technology. We have optimized every aspect of the aircraft with the passenger in mind and established a new level of capability for ultra-long-range aircraft.”

Lockheed Martin awarded contract modification for RoCAF s F-16 upgrade programme 27 April 2021 by Alessandra Giovanzanti Lockheed Martin has been awarded a not-to-exceed USD138 million contract modification for Taiwan’s ‘Peace Phoenix Rising’ programme, which is aimed at upgrading the Republic of China Air Force’s (RoCAF’s) fleet of F-16A/B Fighting Falcon multirole fighter aircraft to the latest F-16V Block 70/72 configuration. The US Department of Defense announced on 26 April that the modification is for “the development and fielding of capabilities for the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System [Auto GCAS] and AGM-88 High-speed Anti-radiation Missile [HARM], improvements in radar software maturity, an update to the data acquisition system, and advanced identification friend-or-foe” systems, adding that work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and Taiwan, and is expected to be completed by 30 September 2022.
