No. 11 Jackets Ready for NCAA Championships

THE FLATS – Making its 21st straight NCAA Championships appearance, the 11th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team opens tournament play this weekend, hosting first- and second-round action at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. The Yellow Jackets welcome Georgia Southern, North Florida and Ole Miss. NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS – ATLANTA REGIONAL ATTENDANCE There will be limited spectator attendance at the 2021 NCAA Championships Atlanta Regional, May 7-8, at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. In addition to each competing team’s pass list, a limited number of general admission seats will be available to fans, free of charge, and a limited number of seats will be available for students from each participating school with a valid school ID. The stands will be cleared in between matches on Friday, May 7, to moderate attendance.

LIVE VIDEO: Sunday only THE FLATS – The sixth-seeded and No. 16-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team opens the 2021 ACC Tennis Championship on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. facing No. 14-seed Virginia Tech. Due to cold conditions forecasted for Thursday morning, all Thursday tennis matches have been pushed back an hour from their originally scheduled time. The tournament, which runs April 21-25, will be played at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga. THE SCENE: Georgia Tech seeks its fifth ACC Championship this week in Rome, owning four tournament titles in program history. The Jackets bring a 15-9 overall record into the tournament and closed out regular season play with an 8-5 ACC ledger.

No. 14 Jackets Host Boston College Sunday THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis returns to the court for its final regular season match on Sunday, welcoming Boston College in a rescheduled contest. First serve is slated for 11 a.m. at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. The 14th-ranked Yellow Jackets (14-9, 7-5 ACC) played their final two road matches this past weekend, bringing home a pair of wins from Louisville and Notre Dame. Tech upended the Cardinals, 5-2, before topping the Fighting Irish, 4-3. Riding a five-match win streak, freshman Mahak Jain clinched Tech’s win at Notre Dame from the five spot in a three-set battle. Jain boasts a 12-6 overall singles record and is 5-2 against ACC opponents.
