USGS Place Six Volcanoes at Orange Watch Status Due to Increased Activities

Previously, the USGS had four volcanoes on Orange / Watch status, but now there are six. Six of the USGS's 161 active volcanoes are of major concern. More than 160 potentially active volcanoes are monitored by the USGS in the United States, most of which are located in Alaska.

USGS Raises Advisory Level and Color Code at Alaska's Davidof Volcano

The USGS and its Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) have raised the alert level and color code to the YELLOW / ADVISORY at Alaska's Davidof Volcano due to the odds of volcanic unrest. A swarm of earthquakes hit around the Davidof volcano over the previous three days, according to AVO.
