Two more swimmers were reportedly bitten by sharks in the waters off of New York beaches Tuesday afternoon, following two other incidents the day before.

At least five people have suffered bites while swimming at Long Island beaches this week, part of an ongoing uptick in shark encounters in the area.

New York police say there were 3 shark attacks over the holiday weekend. The first happened to a 15-year-old boy on Monday, followed by two more attacks on Tuesday.
