COVID-19 is on its way to becoming the leading cause of death in the U.S. after it averaged 3,200 a week, according to a report in Scientific American last month.
That statistic is harrowing, but for those struggling with cancer, the following statistics may be more relevant: A total of 1,806,590 new cancer cases and 606,520 deaths were expected in the U.S. in 2020, which is about 4,950 new cases and more than 1,600 deaths each day.
