Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), the free website used by millions to check whether their credentials have been compromised, has open sourced its code base, founder Troy Hunt announced today.
Hunt first mentioned
plans to open source the HIBP code base last summer. Now, as requests for the website s Pwned Passwords approach 1 billion per month, he has confirmed it is officially open source via the .NET Foundation, an independent 501(c) nonprofit organization.
There are a few reasons Pwned Passwords works well for the open source model, which is why he decided to start there, Hunt explained in a blog post.

That estimate comes from computer-science boffins Daniel Kelly, Frank Glavin, and Enda Barrett at National University of Ireland, Galway, in their recent paper, Denial of Wallet – Defining a Looming Threat to Serverless Computing.
Denial of Wallet, or DoW, attacks aren t actually a widely recognized threat – as the authors observe, No DoW attacks have been publicly recorded. But they have been reported as a consequence of deploying subpar code and concern about the possibility has been bandied about for the past few years.

Why did I want a reverse image search for OpenGameArt?
I wanted to build a reverse image search for OpenGameArt as Google Image Search and TinEye don t give good results for it.
I had previously generated a huge tile map to give an overview of similar images on OpenGameArt, but it wasn t very resource friendly on the web or image browser and had to be split into smaller files, plus it s not searchable in any way, just scrollable.
So I wanted a way for people to explore what kind of art is available on OpenGameArt, and landed on using similarity search to browse the image space.
