The United States (US) Embassy in India has announced measures to reduce the wait time for B1 (business) and B2 (tourist) visas. Now, Indians will be able to to seek appointments for a US visa at some select American embassies in other countries.

Currently, the visa appointment wait time for Interview Required Visitors (B1/B2) in India is 999 days.

The US Mission to India has announced more than 1,00,000 appointments for H&L visas, taking into account the high demand for employment-based visas and families of Indian citizens employed in US
