Leading Bahraini businessman Abdulrahman Juma has been elected the new chairman of the Bahrain India Society (BIS).
Other office bearers elected to the board of directors of BIS for 2021 - 2023 are :
P S Balasubramanyam- Vice Chairman, Zahra Taher - Secretary-General, and Vijay Boloor- Treasurer.
Also on the board are Ahmed Jawahery, Soman Baby, Talal Al Mannai, Mohammed Khaja, Harish Gopinath, Kishore Kewalram and Vinod Das.
The board also elected the following to chair the respective committees: Harish Gopinath ( fundraising), Soman Baby (public relations) and Kishore Kewalram (membership).
The founding chairman of BIS Abdulnabi Al Sho ala initially chaired the meeting and offered all the best for the new committee in their activities.

Companies in Bahrain should change the way they operate their businesses, says a top business leader.
Jamal Fakhro, the Managing Partner of KPMG Bahrain and First Vice Chairman of the Shura Council, said it was time for Bahrain’s businesses to think about talent management and recruit people who can work at a lower cost by using new technology.
He was speaking at a webinar organised by the Bahrain India Society (BIS) on “The Road to Recovery Transforming Risks to Opportunities”.
The meeting was chaired by Raj Damani, BIS chairman, who welcomed Fakhro, Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava, BIS Founder Chairman and former Labour and Social Affairs Minister Abdulnabi Al Shoala, and other guests.

Bahrain resident Madhu Sarda yesterday launched her debut book ‘Everest In My Heart’, an account of her adventurous and gruelling climb to the Everest Base Camp as the only lady in Michelin Chef Vineet Bhatia’s team.
The charity climb was undertaken in 2018 and was the first mountaineering adventure for Madhu. The book was launched officially by journalist and Salaam Bahrain editor Meera Ravi who presented its first copy to the First Secretary of the Nepal Embassy Damodar Dahal.
Other dignitaries who also received the books from the author were media personality, and Alrawi books co-founder Hala Sulaiman and the Honorary Chairman of the Bahrain India Society, Raj Damani and his wife Shubha.
