Thursday 29 April, GIO Stadium, 7:50pm Raiders: Come into the game off a five-day turnaround after a loss to Cowboys on Saturday night. Joseph Tapine and Isosia Soliola are both options to come back into 17 after both were dropped last week. Jarrod Crokers position in the team could come into question with his form down but he also appeared to re-injure the shoulder he had off season surgery on and could be in some doubt. Bailey Simonsson should return from concussion on the right wing which co...

Team news Cowboys: Winning form is good form so coach Todd Payten has gone with the same 17 which downed the Bulldogs in round six.  Jason Taumalolo is still sidelined by a hand injury but the club is hopeful he can return in round eight. Taumalolo, who hasnt played since round one, had his comeback from an injury to his other hand aborted when he suffered another training accident. Peter Hola and Jake Clifford were left out 24 hours before the match. The Cowboys have scored 64 points in their...

This weeks big questions Tom Turbo seems like a bargain at $500k. Swap Latrell for him now hes out for 4 weeks? From Jarrod John Harry Yep, it looks a good move. Tom Trbojevic clearly has a horror injury record but that discounted price and his ability to produce quality scores like he did on the weekend was the reason he was one of the most-owned players in Fantasy during the pre-season. Even if Turbo cant quite match the very top WFBs in terms of scoring he can go close to earning $150k in pr...

Dylan Edwards (hand) and Api Koroisau (wrist) will return against the Knights but the pair wont be risked if they arent ready. Edwards slotting in at fullback would solve a headache for Cleary, who could then move Stephen Crichton back to the centres to replace Paul Momirovski after he was suspended by the judiciary on Tuesday night. Titans winger Phil Sami (concussion) has been named on an extended bench to face the Rabbitohs and is a chance of playing. Former Storm star Will Chambers has...

Dragons captain Ben Hunt could make a return from a broken leg in Sundays Anzac Day clash against the Roosters after being included in their 21-man squad on Tuesday. The news looks just as promising for Roosters premiership-winner Sam Verrills, who has been named to start at hooker for the Tricolours after recent knee surgery.  Hunt and Verills are among a host of stars who have been included in extended squads this week with Sharks halfback Shaun Johnson and Panthers duo Api Koroisau and Dyla...

George Williams has shown the benefit of having an NRL season under his belt, steering Canberra to a comprehensive 30-12 win over Wests Tigers. Having made the move from the English Super League last year, halfback Williams played an important role in the Raiders first three tries at GIO Stadium on Sunday. After they fell behind 6-0 early in a scrappy first half, Williams helped the Raiders regain their composure before taking control of the game and never letting go. George Williams of the Rai...

Just staying on the field is the main goal for Raiders winger Bailey Simonsson this year, with Nick Cotrics departure handing him a golden chance to hopefully play a full season. While Jordan Rapana was cemented on the right side back in the "Leipana" days alongside Joey Leilua, Simsonsson told NRL.com that spot is where he has been building a combination with Curtis Scott on that edge. "Missing pretty much the whole season last year, my main goal first of all is to stay healthy and injury free...

The last time a Brisbane rugby league side entered the topflight, Broncos founding father Barry Maranta offered the clubs inaugural playing roster a then-unprecedented $1500 each per win. The winning bonus was more than double any other going around in the NSWRL competition of 1988, but was offset with a $50 pay packet if the team lost. "That will pay for petrol to get you to training and give you a strong incentive to win next week," Maranta told the players 33 years ago. With the majority of ...
