Eid-al-Adha 2022 will be observed on Saturday, July 9. For people of Muslim faith, it is an occasion of revelry, and gatherings with lavish food spread will be organised in households.

It is the second most important festival of Muslims as the day marks the sacrifice of cattle:  goat, sheep, camel, buffalo in whatever number a person can afford. This day is also known Eid Qurban or Qurban Bayarami.

In a summary submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Cabinet Division has proposed to declare Eid-Ul-Azha Holidays from July 10 to 12, 2022 (Sunday to Tuesday).


 A verified sighting of the hilal (lunar crescent) will enable officials to determine the dates for the month of Dhul Hijjah, the festivities of Eid ul Adha and the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca
