WOOHOO! Latin enrollments in Lower Merion School District might qualify as the highest numbers in the State of Pennsylvania.
This possibility is a tremendous testament to excellent teachers, committed students, and the intrinsic value of studying Classical Latin.
On a personal level, this is gratifying to observe because my husband studied Latin at Lower Merion, with a wonderful woman named Mrs. Gulick who had an enduring influence on many students throughout her long and storied career.

Also, three of my children studied Latin either at Welsh Valley, with Betty Lou Chapman-Thompson, or at Harriton, and my two younger children studied with Sarah Eckrich and Victoria Loeb Ziss at Bala Cynwyd Middle School, followed by studies at Lower Merion.
