Over 200 state arts non-profits received Supporting Arts Grants this year from the Connecticut Office of the Arts. Individual grants ranged from $1,000 to $10,000.
The fall dance season in Connecticut welcomes the touring acts Ailey II and Garth Fagan Dance and big events at Wesleyan and the University of St. Joseph before yielding to a number of "Nutcracker" performances starting in November.
Ballet Theatre Company will perform "Aladdin," with a score by Carl Davis and contributions from local Indian and Chinese choreographers, April 23 and 24 at The Bushnell. The project was conceived and choreographed by Ballet Theatre Company artistic director Stephanie Dattellas.
