Country’s first-ever int’l marathon begins

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2021, the first-ever international marathon in the country, began in the capital on Sunday morning.
Bangladesh Army is organising the marathon marking birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Around 200 elite marathon runners from Morocco, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ukraine, France, Bahrain, Belarus, Lesotho, India, Nepal and Maldives and 165 athletes from Bangladesh have participated in two categories of the competition – full marathon and half marathon.
Also, a digital marathon has also begun on the same day and will continue till March 7 where athletes from all over the world will participate through an app.
