THE Bannu Development Authority (BDA) was formed to execute developmental works in the urban areas of Bannu in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Some five years ago, it had collected Rs1,000 per home from the residents of Bannu Township in order to provide them natural gas. The entire community submitted millions of rupees to BDA, but is still waiting for the day when gas would be supplied to their homes. The residents have not only held peaceful protests in front of the BDA office on several occasions, but have also shared their concerns with the local legislators. Sadly, none of their efforts have borne any fruit to date.

Two held, abductee recovered in Bannu Peshawar May 23, 2021 BANNU: The police here on Saturday recovered a man, who was recently kidnapped, and arrested two persons accused of kidnapping him. It was learnt that one Afaq Khalid son of Khalid Gul living at Bannu Township in Bannu city was kidnapped by unidentified kidnappers at gunpoint on the third day of Eidul Fitr. His brother Junaid Khalid had lodged a case with the Mandan Police Station, stating that his brother Afaq had gone to visit his relatives in his village Multan Kaki, but he did not return home and his mobile phone was also switched off.

BMC new building inaugurated

BMC new building inaugurated March 16, 2021 LAKKI MARWAT: Bannu Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai on Monday inaugurated the new building of the Bannu Medical College. He addressed a ceremony in Bannu Township as a special guest to mark the occasion. Besides students, dean and principal of the college, Prof Hussain Babar, teachers of various faculties of the college, Executive Engineer C&W Hamraz Khan and officers of other departments were present on the occasion. The commissioner said all available resources would be utilised for the development of the health sector in Bannu for improving the treatment facilities, advising the medical students to serve the suffering humanity on completing their education.
