The entire area is under a Heat Advisory with the exception of the Southside and Peninsulas who are under an Excessive Heat Warning due to higher dew points surrounding the Chesapeake Bay.

We're starting this Wednesday warm and humid with temperatures in the 70s. Highs will soar to the mid 90s today, with heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees.

Highs will climb to the low 90s today, with heat index values between 95 and 100 degrees. Relief from the heat will come in the form of a higher chance of storms today.

By the afternoon, skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds and isolated storms will be possible area wide. It'll be breezy today, with southwest winds between 10 to 20 mph.

Mostly cloudy today with scattered showers and storms. Rain chances continue through the weekend. Several days in the 90s next week.

Sunshine will break out first across the northwest through midday and last across the southeast this afternoon, but regardless we'll have to keep a chance of a stray shower in the forecast.
