Barnabas Simon, the Bayelsa State chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has said the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise called petrol, by the government was too hasty. Simon lamented that there was also no thought-out plan by the government to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal on Nigerians.
