A group of people had been swimming in Brothers Water on Tuesday when one went missing. Police, with divers and sniffer dogs, and Cumbria Fire and Rescue were called out at about 7pm on Tuesday to the body of water just south of Patterdale after a man in his 30s from Newcastle went missing. The body was found at around 2:30pm on Wednesday. Formal identification has not yet taken place Crummock Water near Buttermere has also been the scene of a multi-agency search by Cumbrian emergency services since Friday afternoon after a 30-year-old man from London went missing. It is believed he had got into difficulties with a friend who had been rescued from the water.
