Councilmember Jared Brossett announced Thursday that he will suspend his campaign activities for his bid for the second At-Large position, but will complete his term for District D following his second drunk driving arrest in 16 months.

A New Orleans Councilman running on the ticket for an at-large position has suspended his campaign following a drunk driving arrest.

Brossett announced the decision today saying he need professional help after his arrest for DWI.

Shortly after Thursday’s meeting started, Brossett released a statement saying he’s entering an inpatient rehabilitation center for treatment.

Brossette will not participate in tonight's debate after his recent DWI arrest.
