EDGARTOWN, Mass. (AP) — The chief executive of Martha's Vineyard Community Services was wrapping up work Wednesday when she looked outside to see 48 strangers nearing her office with red folders that included brochures for her organization.

At Joint Base Cape Cod, the migrants will be given dormitory-style housing, food and services, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said.

Migrant Everlides Dela Hoz didn’t know where she was headed. She said she was told there would be beds, it would be safe and help to find work.

The group of about 50 migrants who have been in temporary shelter on Martha’s Vineyard has moved to Joint Base Cape Cod. The move is voluntary. The group traveled by bus and ferry, surrounded by media.
