BADIN: The polling on the Sindh Assembly’s constituency PS-70 Matli (BADIN II) seat has ended and the vote count is currently underway, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The voting started at 8:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm without any break to elect a representative of the constituency in the provincial legislature.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results of four polling stations, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Bashir Ahmed Halepoto is leading with 387 votes. JUI’s Maulana Gul Hassan is behind with 104 votes.
The seat was fallen vacant due to the death of the Pakistan People’s Party’s Bashir Ahmed Halepoto. The People’s Party has awarded a party ticket for the by-election to Ahmad Abdullah Halepoto.

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after a successful African Finance Summit in France.
The President’s personal assistant on New media, Bashir Ahmed made this known in a tweet on his account on Thursday.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after a successful African Finance Summit which focused on reviewing African economy, following the crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic,” he wrote.
The President had travelled to France to attend the African Finance Summit which was focused on reviewing the African economy, following shocks from the Coronavirus pandemic and getting relief, especially for the increased debt burden on countries.

The Presidency has denied reports that the African Finance Summit which President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to attend has been postponed.
Recall that Buhari departed Abuja, Nigeria for France on Sunday to attend the summit hosted by President Emmanuel Macron.
The summit hopes to review the African economy, following shocks from the COVID-19 pandemic and getting relief, especially from the increased debt burden placed on countries by the outbreak.
Buhari and some Heads of Government will collectively, discuss external funding and debt treatment for Africa and private sector reforms.
However, a report had claimed that the Africa-France summit, was postponed to October due to travel constraints linked to COVID-19.
