Decide on review pleas on scrapping of Roshni Act: SC to J&K SC India Published: Thursday, December 10, 2020, 11:54 [IST] New Delhi, Dec 10: The Supreme Court has asked the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to decide on December 21 review pleas against its verdict scrapping the Roshni Act which face rights to people over land in the UT. The court said that it would hear in January appeals challenging the October 9 verdict of the Jammu and Kashmir HC which scrapped the Act. A batch of special leave petitions were filed in the Supreme Court against a Jammu and Kashmir High Court order scrapping the Roshni Act that gave proprietary rights to occupants of state land, with the petitioners pleading that they never encroached on government land and were never made a party in the case.
