BATON ROUGE - On Tuesday, the Baton Rouge Police Departments deputy chiefs responded to a scathing statement from the International Union of Police Associations criticizing the department for its handling of crime in the area.

Following 12 weeks of training, 13 new correction officers have taken the oath of office and Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.

The Baton Rouge Police Departments 88th Basic Training Academy kicked off Monday (December 6) morning.

DEC announced that Environmental Conservation Police Officer (ECO) Steven Shaw was honored with the Wildlife Officer of the Year Award from the Shikar-Safari Club International.
