New Delhi: An Indian Army s helicopter on Monday (January 25, 2021) made a crash-landing in Jammu and Kashmir s Kathua district, in which, one pilot has died and another sustained injuries.
The Indian army chopper has crash-landed near a brigade headquarters in Lakhanpur area of Kathua district, the Indian Army has confirmed. Today at around 7 pm, Army Dhruv Chopper crashed during routine Patrolling incident in the Army Area of 401 R T Brigade at Basohli Morh Sector Lakhanpur, of Kathua district bordering Punjab, said SSP Kathua Shailender Kumar.
Reports quoting eyewitness suggest that the advanced light helicopter crashed after getting caught in wires.

An Indian Army helicopter crash landed near a brigade headquarters in Lakhanpur area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday (January 25), Indian Army confirmed. Reports quoting eyewitness suggest that an Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv crashed after getting caught in wires, however, there was no immediate confirmation by the Army about the cause of crash.
Sources say that one pilot died and another pilot is critical. They were admitted to a nearby Army hospital.
SRINAGAR: Hours after Dhruv Chopper crashed at Lakhanpur in Kathua district, one of the Army pilots succumbed to his injuries and another is battling for life.
Official sources here said that two Indian Army pilots suffered injuries when Dhruv Chopper crashed inside an Army establishment at Basohli Morh in Lakhapur in Kathua district on Monday evening at around 1920 hours.
They said that Army’s Dhruv Chopper crash lands in Lakhanpur, adding, “two pilots received grievous injuries and were evacuated and rushed to the Military Base Hospital at Pathankot.”
“One of them identified as Lt Col Rishab Sharma, succumbed to his injuries while Captain Anjani Kumar is on ventilation,” they added.
